THE DETAILS?

It is a competition endorsed by SAE International, where new teams  from different universities will have the opportunity to show the work done for the development of their BAJA SAE vehicle as well as put it to the test in dynamic tests.

​

To the 2026 competition, teams must compete into a in person event. It will place all static events (Cost, Design and Sales Events) and all dynamic events (plus engine check and technical inspection).

Registration dates for the event:

Start of registration:  May 4th 2026

Registration closure: November 6th 2026

COSTS: 

​

1-. For the competition, are contempled 3 stages for teams with vehicle:

​​

• 1st stage: $ 11,000 MXN ($610 USD) May 4th to July 1st, this cost include faculty advisor, captain team and  5 members 

• 2nd stage: $13,000 MXN ($720 USD) July 2nd to August 30th, this costs include faculty advisor, captain team and  5 members 

• 3rd stage: $15,000 MXN ($830 USD) September 1st to November 6th, this costs include faculty advisor, captain team and  5 members 

• Late registrations with an extension request letter  $16,000 ($890 USD), this cost will not include participation kits

• The team can add extra members for the registration with a cost of $1200 MXN per person. ($67 USD)​

2.- New teams without a running car

• 1st stage: $ 7500 MXN ($320 USD) June 2nd to September 1st, this cost include faculty advisor, captain team and  5 members 

• 2nd stage: $9500 MXN ($420 USD) September 2nd to November 6th, this costs include faculty advisor, captain team and  5 members 

• The team can add extra members for the registration with a cost of $900 MXN per person. ($67 USD)
